October is a generous month for music. So far, this new albums October 2026 column runs from country disco to Irish post-punk, and two big releases are still on the way. It goes week by week, using Billboard’s release calendar, reporting from Pitchfork and the AP, and the labels’ own announcements. We list release facts only. Chart results come later, once the charts publish.
October 2: Victoria Monét and Miranda Lambert
The month opened with two very different moods.
Victoria Monét, Frequency of Love. Monét announced the album in July, and Billboard reported then that it would arrive October 2 on Lovett/RCA. Our tip: play it front to back on a Sunday morning with the windows open.
Miranda Lambert, Crisco. On the same Friday, Lambert released Crisco on MCA. The AP called it a country-disco album. It has 12 tracks, including duets with Chris Stapleton and Ella Langley, plus a cover of Jim Croce’s “I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song.” As a result, it may be the only record this month that suits both a honky-tonk and a roller rink.
October 9: Troye Sivan and Remi Wolf
The second Friday of new albums October 2026 belonged to pop.

Troye Sivan, She’s the Best. Sivan’s fourth studio album has 12 tracks, according to Universal Music Canada. It came with a new single, “FF,” and its closing track features Lily-Rose Depp. Our full notes are in last Monday’s pop culture news roundup. Start with the title track, then let the album run.
Remi Wolf, Mud. Wolf’s third album, on Island Records, has 11 songs, per her label. It includes the singles “Twiggy,” “Bottle” and “I Won’t Cry.” Her label also announced The Mud Tour, which starts in Australia in December and reaches North America in February 2027. If you like your pop loose and a little strange, this is the one.
October 16: Fontaines D.C. and Zach Bryan
Today is a big one for new albums in October 2026.
Fontaines D.C., Dopamine Chamber. The Irish band’s fifth album arrives today on XL. When the band announced it in August, Pitchfork reported that James Ford produced it and that it follows 2024’s Romance. The lead single is “Marianne,” and the album also includes “Where Is Gone?” with Rosalía. For us, it is the record of the month so far.
Zach Bryan, Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs. Billboard’s calendar also lists a new Zach Bryan release for today. We will listen with everyone else this morning, so we have no verdict yet.
Still to come: LISA and Queens of the Stone Age
Two more dates on the new albums October 2026 calendar are worth circling.
LISA, Press Play (October 23). LISA announced the Press Play EP in late August, along with the single “SaWaDiKa,” Billboard Philippines reported. Billboard’s calendar lists it for October 23. It is an EP, not a full album, but it is still one of the month’s most anticipated releases.
Queens of the Stone Age, Perfecth (October 30). The band announced Perfecth in August for October 30 on Matador, according to Pitchfork. It is spelled exactly like that, on purpose. Josh Homme coined the word, and the band shared the single “Insignificant Other” with the news. So Halloween weekend gets a rock record, which feels right.
How to listen to new albums in October 2026
Keeping up can feel like homework. Here is how we do it.
- One new record a day. First, pick one album each morning and give it a full play before you judge it.
- Front to back first. Then, after the first listen, make a short playlist of the tracks you want to hear again.
- Make room for the old. Finally, keep one familiar album in rotation. New music lands better next to something you already love.

The new albums October 2026 shortlist
If you only have time for three, here is the shortlist. Start with Dopamine Chamber, since it is out today. Next, try She’s the Best for something bright. Then save Crisco for a long drive. LISA and Queens of the Stone Age join our new albums October 2026 list once they arrive.
